The Red Line runs between centrepoint and Expo 2020 or Life Pharmacy, according to the RTA. Check the destination and direction before boarding.

To follow the line toward Expo 2020 or Life Pharmacy from centrepoint, City Centre Deira comes immediately before Al Rigga. Station names and line directions help confirm the right route on the map.

Union and BurJuman are interchange stations between Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines. If a journey requires changing lines, use the RTA map to see which interchange fits the route, then check the station and direction for the next train.

The map can help plan the line changes involved in getting around Dubai. For broader transport planning from the hotel area, this guide to getting around Dubai from the hotel area covers that topic.

Tickets, fares and service checks

Tickets, fares and service checks

Metro fares depend on the number of zones travelled and the ticket or card used. RTA lists regular Red Ticket fares of AED 4 within one zone, AED 6 across two adjacent zones and AED 8.50 across more than two zones.

Regular Silver Card fares are AED 3, AED 5 and AED 7.50 for those same trip categories; Gold Card fares are AED 6, AED 10 and AED 15.

You can buy nol cards at ticket offices, ticket vending machines, RTA customer happiness centres, authorised sales agents or online. RTA also describes a virtual nol card through the nol Pay application.

Digital top-ups can help avoid queues at station vending machines. A nol card needs a minimum balance of AED 7.50 to use the Metro, and RTA advises keeping at least AED 15 on it.

Tap a nol card at the entrance gate and again at the exit gate at the destination station. Metro stations have lift access to all levels, tactile guidance paths, wheelchair spaces on all trains, and audible and flashing platform alerts.

RTA station opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 05:00 AM–12:00 AM; Friday, 05:00 AM–01:00 AM the next day; Saturday, 05:00 AM–12:00 AM; and Sunday, 08:00 AM–12:00 AM. Hours may change on holidays and during special events, so check the official site before you go.

If you are arriving at Dubai International Airport, the route options to the hotel area are covered in this airport-to-hotel guide.
