Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is a heritage district where wind towers, preserved infrastructure and winding lanes offer a glimpse of life in Dubai during the mid-19th century. Set aside the first part of your day to wander its lanes and choose a museum, gallery or cultural stop.

There are more than 50 houses to explore, including the Coins Museum, Symposium House, Events House and Municipality House. The Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding is a recommended starting point for a culturally immersive tour. Traditional food and cultural activities also feature in the neighbourhood.

The Coffee Museum, at Villa 44 in Bastakiya, has free entry. Its coffee-related displays include First World War-era grinders and historical brewing pots. Check the museum’s official site for current visiting details before you go.
